My approach:
What we are today is the result of our past. This is one of the basic assumptions in psychology, and by past we mean our first relations, our growth, education and the events we have experienced: consciously and unconsciously. These have shaped us "for better or worse", meaning that they determine our personality, our "strengths", and possibly also our "symptoms"; so yes, even disorders or conflicts find their origin, or part of it, in the subject's past. Consequently, just as each person is a very complex and articulated universe in its own right, so are conflicts and disorders.
And it is precisely for this reason that my approach is based on focusing on the specific person, on his experience and on his uniqueness: understanding his world, and from this understanding accompanying him in the search for solutions. The exploration of one's own experience leads the patient to both a greater awareness of his problems and of his internal resources, discovering new points of view that offer a new perspective, as well as new tools and strategies to overcome his difficulties and improve his emotional well-being . There are patients who wish to embark on a journey of deep self-exploration, and there are others who only wish to find relief from the suffering they feel, or a solution to the problems they are experiencing: every need is valid, and deserves attention and the space to be heard.
For this reason I offer a approach and direct working relationship with the patient, without intermediaries who might influence or interfere with the support process, as often happens with many services that offer ONLINE therapy services with a "supermarket-type" model, offering a unique solution for everyone, and above all with a more corporate marketing logic, rather than clinical logic behind it.
Why should you chose an ONLINE support?
There are several reasons for which people chose an ONLINE treatment. First and foremost, the geographical distance: many people nowadays find themselves living far from their home country, and being able to rely on a clinician who speaks your language, knows your culture and the background you come from, is a great plus. In this sense, in addition to being Italian, my life abroad allowed me to experience firsthand what it means to live in another country, besides getting to know different languages and cultures, such as Latin American and American.
Secondly, there is conveniency and practicality: in addition to distance, in today's frenetic world the reality of busy work schedules often makes it difficult for people to move, particularly in large cities, and make it on time for a session after work. The advantage of an ONLINE setting is that you can receive support wherever you are, booking the time that is most convenient.
Is an ONLINE setting suited for everyone?
Generally speaking, no. Each patient is unique, as is the situation and the reasons that lead him to seek help: for many people an ONLINE approach is a good choice, while other circumstances or problems require a face-to-face approach: the clinician will asses wether online is an option,or if an in-person setting is indicated.
